It is typically used in applications such as, internet access, video surveillance, cable TV and telecommunication systems.

Fiber access terminal are different according to application area: indoor and outdoor.
Indoor fiber access terminal usually with compact size which allow easy installation on buildings and houses. It provides less IP protection compared to outdoor fiber optic termination boxes. However more convenient to connect smaller capacity cables in FTTH line construction. They are usually made of high quality ABS+PVC and in white color.
Outdoor fiber access terminal also called Gel sealing fiber boxes, designed with high grade IP protection (IP68) which allow used in outdoor with various weather conditions. It serves as a termination point for the feeder cable to connect to the drop cable within the FTTx network infrastructure.
The Fiber Access Terminal Boxes can be installed on wall by screws or mounted on pole by stainless steel bands. They are usually made of high quality UV resistant plastic and in black color.
